December, 2011

Its December and Christmas is in the air.  This is the Victoria Legislature lit up in lights.  The city looks so nice this time of year.

Scarves and cowls are popular this season, and here are a few of our favorites.

This lacey cowl/scarf was my inspiration to try combining two yarns.  I used one strand of CEY's Portland Tweed in the grey with Schulana's Silver Kid Paillettes yarn.  The result was a nice tweed effect with just a little bit of sparkle.  This is a free pattern called Silverstar Diamond Leaf Scarf,
and you can download it here:

This is "Flagstone" from Stephen West's Book 2.

This Wooly Scarf is Katia's Park Avenue yarn.  Just one ball and one hour of your time makes this cosy scarf.  Available in rich colors like Grey, Black, Indigo, Cherry, and Cream.

Bowties Scarf
Knit with "Knit One Crochet Too" Tye-Dy Wool, this is a fun scarf with a unique construction.  It uses I-cords to join two contrasting yarn colors.

Kathleen's In-Silk Sweater
knit with Filigran's In Silk yarn,
col. 0730 Coral
Pattern is from Louisa Harding's Venezia Book

Lily love, love, loves Christmastime.  She can't wait to tear into her presents!

Beautiful yarns from Ella Rae, Misty Alpaca, and Knit One, Crochet Too
