Artichoke
Artichoke was first designed by William Morris in 1877 and the the inspiration for these most elegant chair seats and cushions was stitched in wool and linen. Various versions can be seen at the William Morris Gallery, the V&A Museum, the Fitz William Museum and Standen in England

Adapted from a beautiful sofa design by William Morris. The single panel is half of the design shown here and measures
 15" x 48" 
The border is not printed on the Canvas and is worked from a coloured chart.

Acanthus Rug
Inspired by a beautiful silk embroidered wall hanging designed By William Morris circa 1880 and now at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The background is stitched in a combination of two blues in crewel wool, the design in tapestry wool. The rug and bell pull are worked in cross stitch.

Compton Rug
Designed by Henry Dearle in 1896 as a wallpaper and fabric for Compton Hall in Wolverhampton. Dearl's designs have often been mistaken for Morris'; they worked closley together for many years and he took over the running of Morris & Co. on Morris' death.
