This reproduction sampler was originally stitched by a 13 year old girl named Mary Livcey in 1832. This is an American sampler but the colors and designs are very Scottish, suggesting Mary may have lived in a predominantly Scottish area.
Finally complete, this sampler took about 5 months to stitch, an hour here and there. It was very enjoyable as Mary Livcey was quite creative with her corners, motifs and border and the grammatical errors add extra charm.
